Alan continues our study in the book of James with a focus on James 2:1-13. In this portion of scripture, James specifically warns us to avoid the sin of partiality---of favoring one person above another. He instead encourages us to "love our neighbors as ourselves" according to God's law. He reminds us that God will show us mercy as we show mercy to others but will withhold mercy as we withhold mercy from others.
