The By Grace Women’s Home Board is working hard to reopen this fall and we are looking for staff members to apply for several different types of positions, as shown below. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Position Summary
The Executive Director (Full-Time Position) serves as the administrative and operational leader of By Grace Women's Home (By Grace). This individual is responsible for advancing the organization's mission while ensuring strong program delivery, financial sustainability, staff leadership, and community engagement.

The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that By Grace effectively serves women in transitional housing through compassionate, structured, and faith-centered programming. This role requires leadership, organizational management, fundraising, and relationship-building skills.

The Executive Director ensures that all programs, services, and operations align with By Grace's Christian mission and commitment to serving women from various backgrounds.
         
*** By Grace will pay for all staff to obtain required child abuse clearances and Pennsylvania and federal background checks prior to employment. Staff and residents are also subject to random drug screening in accordance with organizational policy.***
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Strategic Direction-
● Provide visionary leadership for the ministry  
● Work collaboratively with and provides regular updates and reports to the By Grace Advisory Board (Board)
● Lead the implementation of policies, procedures, and operational goals
● Ensure organizational decisions align with mission, program effectiveness, and sustainability
● Foster a culture of compassion, accountability, and excellence
● Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and expanded services

Fundraising & Resource Development                                    
● Works with the Board to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies.
● Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan with measurable goals
● Cultivate and maintain relationships with multiple funding sources including individual donors, churches, foundations, corporations, agencies, and community partners
● Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and partnerships
● Support staff grant writer with grant research, financial information and reports.
● Maintain systems for tracking donors, grants, and funding sources
● Provide oversight of donor communications.

Oversight
●Train staff and facilitate relevant training to effectively serve vulnerable populations.                          
● Facilitate regular staff meetings.
● Provide leadership that empowers staff and volunteers.
● Clearly establish chain-of-command and maintain proper reporting policies.
● Evaluate organizational effectiveness and implement strategic improvements

Community and Board Relationships
● Serve as an effective advocate and spokesperson for By Grace Women’s Home
● Proactively cultivate strong internal relationships with Board of Directors, By Grace staff, supporters and volunteers
● Proactively cultivate strong external relationships with funders and potential donors, foundations and partner organizations, local businesses, state and local government agencies and media and community leaders
● Keep the Board informed of all matters relating to By Grace operations and programs
● Works with the Board Chair to set meeting agendas and ensure Board decisions are effectively implemented throughout the organization.

Fiscal Control and Management
● Maintain sound fiscal responsibility and adherence to budget targets
● Ensure financial best practices are implemented and followed
● Ensure compliance with grant requirements and donor expectations

Program Management
● Ensure services meet licensing and regulatory requirements
● Regularly review program standards and effectiveness.
● Works with the Caseworker(s) to ensure consistent, high-quality care and support services
Preferred Skills and Experience
● Experience in nonprofit leadership, ministry, social services, or transitional housing
● Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage staff and volunteers
● Experience working with vulnerable populations, including women in crisis, homelessness, trauma, or addiction recovery
● Desire to serve in a faith-based or Christian ministry environment
● Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills
● Ability to track and organize financial records
● Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
● High level of integrity, discretion, and compassion

CASEWORKER

Position Summary
By Grace is seeking a Transitional Housing Caseworker to join our team (Part-time, with potential for full-time). The Caseworker will play a pivotal role in supporting our residents. This position involves comprehensive case management services, including assessing client needs, developing personalized plans, and connecting clients with community resources. The Caseworker will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure residents of By Grace are well supported and that the women’s home operates in alignment with its values and mission.

Key Responsibilities
• Client Assessment: Conduct intake interviews to evaluate client needs and goals, including housing stability, employment, and health services.
• Individualized Service Plans: Create and implement tailored action plans that provide a roadmap for clients to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
• Resource Coordination: Connect clients with necessary services such as employment assistance, mental health support, financial literacy programs, and social services.
• Advocacy & Collaboration: Serve as an advocate for residents, assisting them in navigating housing applications, legal issues, and community resources to facilitate smooth transitions
• Monitoring Progress: Regularly meet with clients to assess progress toward housing goals, adjust plans as needed, and provide ongoing support.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting interactions, progress, and outcomes as required.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention for clients facing crisis situations.
• Program Evaluation: Participate in evaluating program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on client feedback and outcomes.
Qualifications
• Experience in the human services or social work—two years’ work experience preferred
• Knowledge of and commitment to trauma-informed care strongly encouraged
• Computer literacy
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Knowledge of community resources and social service systems
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping clients achieve their goals
Requirements
• Valid Driver’s License
• Completing mandated safety training and continuing workplace education
• Attend periodic staff meetings (as scheduled)

RESIDENT ASSISTANT

Position Summary
By Grace Women's Home is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and professional Part-Time Resident Assistant to support residents during evening and weekend hours. The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for women participating in transitional housing. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to enforce house guidelines with consistency and grace, and a willingness to learn and apply trauma-informed care practices. The Resident Assistant supports residents, monitors the home, and follows established protocols to ensure smooth operations during assigned shifts. Applicants must have the desire to serve a vulnerable population and uphold the mission and values of By Grace Women's Home. The Resident Assistant reports to the Executive Director and Caseworker.

Schedule
• Part-Time Evening (overnights) and Weekend Hours
• Typical shifts may include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
• Flexible availability preferred
• On-call availability (certain hours or holidays)                                

Primary Responsibilities
Resident Support
• Provide a supportive, respectful, and encouraging presence for residents
• Build appropriate professional relationships with residents
• Model healthy communication and boundaries
• Support residents in following individualized program expectations
 
House Oversight & Safety
• The RA is allowed to sleep during their overnight shift. However, during those hours, the RA is considered to be “on-call” and must be available as needed.  
• Ensure curfew adherence and visitor policy compliance
• Address conflicts between residents in a calm and professional manner
• Respond appropriately to emergencies following established protocol

Rule Enforcement & Accountability
• Consistently enforce house guidelines and expectations
• Document rule violations and file incident reports accurately and promptly
• Communicate concerns to Executive Director/Caseworker

Administrative & Documentation Duties
• Complete shift notes and maintain communication log for staff transitions
• Track attendance, curfews, and required resident activities
• Follow confidentiality standards at all times

Program Support
• Assist with structured evening programming as needed
• Encourage participation in life skills development
• Overseeing basic household chores and meals as needed

Training & Professional Development
• Complete mandated safety training and continuing workplace education
• Attend periodic staff meetings (as scheduled)
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow professionally
