Alan and Heidi Potter.
Hi, I am Alan Potter, the Senior Leader here at Grace, and this is my wife Heidi. It has been over 17 years since Heidi and I felt led by God to start a church in Middleburg, and we continue to be amazed at what God has done and are looking forward to what He’s going to do.
As the Senior Leader at GCCC, my role can be categorized into two primary areas of responsibility:
- Discerning vision and direction for GCCC and providing leadership to fulfill the vision
- Equipping, training and releasing leaders to do the work of the ministry
We hope that you enjoy our website and that it is helpful to you. Feel free to listen to the most recent life teachings from our Sunday morning service. If you’d like to join us anytime at GCCC, we would love to have you—Just check out our home page for our meeting times and location. God bless you, and I pray you will become increasingly aware of God’s love for you and begin to live a life filled with His presence!
Letter from Pastor Alan- January 2019
A new year is always filled with new possibilities and opportunities. Before us lies the unknown—it can either paralyze us or we can embrace it. I want to take a moment to challenge all of us for the coming new year. It’s about our priorities. A verse I have been hearing lately is Mark 8:36, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” What do you have in your priorities, life or spirit that is hindering you from walking with God? This year is an incredible opportunity to grow more like Jesus, but we are going to have to choose it. Some choices will be what we add and some what we take out of our lives. Let’s start this new year by choosing to make a habit of reading God’s Word regularly, praying often and guarding our hearts against the evil thoughts which attempt to isolate and destroy us.
If your spiritual life in 2018 wasn’t what you wanted, try something new this year. There are new classes starting on January 9th, First Wednesday Worship each month, or how about trying out a small group. The possibilities and opportunities are many this new year. Let’s take advantage of them and choose to grow, mature and become more like Jesus in 2019. Thanks to each of you for a great 2018. I’m looking forward to what God will do this year in us and through us!
